Balloon Trips

Hot air ballooning began with the first public flight in such a balloon in Annonay, France on July 4, 1783. Thus this date marks the beginning of aviation history and since then balloon trips have been made all over the world and around the world. They are still used for scientific experiments and as weather balloons, but you can still enjoy the thrill of a trip in a hot air balloon too. Most major tourist destinations in the world offer hot air balloon rides over the cities and spectacular scenic locations so that you get the view from a different vantage point.

Everyone should have at least one balloon trip in his/her lifetime. Nothing else compares to the experience of floating through the clouds. You experience thrill of riding along just above the surface of the earth and drifting silently and effortlessly through the air. Many people do decide to take a balloon ride on their own and there are many occasions to do so in the United Kingdom, such as taking a champagne balloon ride in West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. One of these would be the perfect wedding, anniversary or birthday gift for someone special.

There are some tips you should keep in mind when you take a hot air balloon ride. Rides usually take place just after dawn or in the early evening. A morning flight is best because there are less chances of running into weather conditions. Since it is colder at these times of day and colder higher up in the atmosphere, you should dress warmly wearing long pants and shirts or sweaters with sleeves. There are some types of weather that will cancel a balloon trip. They don’t fly when it is too windy or when it is raining.

To make sure you remember every moment of the balloon trip, make sure you bring along a camera with lots of memory or if you are using a regular camera, make sure you have extra rolls of film with you. You won’t have room for any extras, so there is no need to pack any luggage for this trip and if possible take only what you can fit in your pocket so you don’t have to worry about your purse.
